What Makes the Hauber Method™ Different?

There are five main reasons the Hauber Method™ is different from--and more effective than--other modalities for addressing back pain.
 
1. In the Hauber Method™, I take the time to clearly explain the specific physical contributors (the “hows” and “whys,” if you will) of back pain. I always say, “your back was not designed to hurt.” And that’s true. So if it is hurting, there must be some physical reason why. 

​Barring acute injury from impact/accidents, those physical reasons have to do with the position of bones relative to each other--a position that is 100% affected by the strength, weakness, length, shortness, tightness, or misalignment of the soft tissues surrounding your skeleton.
 
Thus, I teach you ideal postural alignment and help you see how modern life has pushed your unique body far away from that ideal (and into pain).

​Without that clear, logical instruction regarding exactly “where you want your bones and joints to be,” an instruction of physical exercises and stretches can only have limited, or short term, effects. 

2. Once you gain a clear understanding of the origins of your physical pain--how far from ideal postural alignment your structure has gotten--I instruct you on the exercises and stretches that address exactly those physical issues (tightness, weakness, misalignment, etc.).

​None of us is likely going to reach that ideal. Heck, I am certainly never going to! I’ve got metal holding my spine in place! But I teach you everything you need to know to help give your soft tissues--primarily deep and joint-stabilizer muscles--the best methods for helping relieve painful joints and undoing years of painful positioning, no matter how far from ideal posture your body is at the moment.
 
Every body is changeable, even if it already has metal in it, like mine does. The Hauber Method™ shows you precise, purposeful, and progressive ways of moving yourself out of pain and into a new way of being in and moving your body.

3. All of the moves--every single one!--in the Hauber Method™ series are specifically designed to HELP your back because I make sure you get into proper alignment first. With my instruction, you will not put your back or any other joints at risk. That’s simply not true of any other method. For example, people get hurt in yoga all the time.

4. In addition to explaining the physical origins of your pain and showing you exactly how to correct those painful ways of being, I also introduce you to the concept of body-mind healing and help you overcome setbacks and disappointments on your way to your desired, pain-free state.

Months, years, or decades of pain can negatively affect your way of thinking about your body to such an extent that it may present a very real obstacle on the way to your healing. I help you dismantle that obstacle, if it’s there, and understand how to partner with, rather than battle against, your body as you heal.
