How to Stop Back Pain and Avoid Surgery

If you have suffered back pain for more than a few days, you are likely desperate to make it stop. You’ve probably taken anti-inflammatories, used heat and ice, rested on your couch, and just waited for it to pass.

Sometimes, that works fine.

But what if the pain comes again frequently? Or what if it just doesn’t stop?

You might have gone to a spine specialist or orthopedic doctor. They probably took X-rays and an MRI. They might have told you that you have degenerated discs or other physical maladies involving the soft tissues in your back. They probably said you could have surgery, but there was no guarantee of successfully eliminating your pain.

I hope you said, “No thanks.” Or at least, “Let me try fixing it myself first.”

And here’s why:
Unless you have been diagnosed with 100% certainty that you have a broken/busted vertebrae, or a congenital disease that causes your spine to be malformed in such a way that it is progressively encroaching on your spinal nerves and you now have constant nerve pain, you do not need surgery.

I explain exactly why that is in the following video. Watch it all the way through. It gets really good in the second half.

The biggest cause of back (or any joint) pain, and its solution, is this: Muscles move your bones! Sara Hauber explains why this simple fact empowers you to stop your pain.

The core message in this video is that you can move yourself out of pain--with exercises and stretches that I teach in the Hauber Method™-- because muscles move your bones.

That seems simple enough, but have you really ever thought about what that means?

If muscles moves your bones, then clearly they can either put you into or move you out of painful posture.

Pain relief is as simple as that!

The only problem is, no one has ever taught you how to do it.
That simple explanation describes why I centered the entire Hauber Method™ program around exercises and stretches--both of which alter the length and/or the strength of muscles. It's also the reason why trigger point massage and self-myofascial release can go a long way to help reduce pain in a joint.

The combination of proper strengthening of specific stabilizer muscles, proper stretching of prime movers and other dysfunctional muscles, and self- or professionally-administered myofascial release can seriously seem like magic.

It works that fast.

As I hope I made clear in this video, if you can learn what constitutes “pain-free” posture and then apply what you learn to make your muscles move your bones and joints away from the painful position in which they currently hold themselves, you can escape pain.

The entire Hauber Method™ program is designed to empower you to do just that!

• You do not need to be a victim to back pain.
• Except in very, very rare circumstances, you do not need surgery.

You need the correct information about how to modify your body’s tissues to move you out of pain.
